The StartUP Network

The objective of the StartUP Network is to assist people who have the desire and ability to start and grow a successful high growth business with potential sales in excess of $3m pa within 5 years.

Who Should Join The StartUP Network?

You should join the StartUP Network if you:

  • are motivated to start a high growth business with international sales potential.
  • have some entrepreneurial flair with a commitment to action and progress.
  • have some business experience, qualifications, or both
  • have a positive can do attitude
  • are dedicated and able to devote at least 10 hours a week (of your choosing) to preparing to start your own business. This means you can still be working or studying full time and participate in the network.
  • commit to attending the monthly evening meeting on the third Thursday of every month at least 9 times a year in Dunedin.

What Will The StartUP Network Do For You?

As a member of the StartUP Network you will receive:

  • honest feedback on the business idea you’re considering pursuing
  • help to find a business idea or technology that excites you, and fits with your talents
  • monthly events where you can connect with other likeminded people, and learn how to be a successful high growth entrepreneur
  • connections to the people you’ll need on your team, and business partners
  • access to a mentor, and people experienced in starting high growth businesses
  • preferential access to the Entrepreneur Development Programme where you can receive a scholarship to build your own business full time (and work with existing startups)
  • preferential access to the Upstart Incubation Programme for intensive assistance and support.
  • support to help you find funding and grants which you may be eligible for.
  • links and connections to some useful resources as we come across them
  • receive invitations to related events such as The Great Elevator Pitch with well known and respected entrepreneurs from around the country.

How Much Does It Cost to Join The StartUP Network?

In short – NOTHING! This is a free service thanks to Upstart’s sponsors.

When and How Can You Join The StartUP Network?

You can join at any stage, but NOW is the best time. Simply email your request for an application form for The StartUP Network to info@upstart.org.nz. We’ll review your application and arrange a time to meet with you.
