Congratulations to Upstart Business Incubator graduate TracMap who won the Applied Design Research Centre Award at the 2010 Otago Westpac Otago Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.
The winners of the prestigious 2010 Westpac Otago Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards were announced at a gala dinner and ceremony at the Dunedin Town Hall on Friday 26 November 2010. Over 320 local business community leaders attended this black-tie event.
Speakers included Business Awards committee chairperson Ali Copeman; Dunedin Mayor Dave Cull; and Westpac Head of Business Banking South Island John Brophy. John Sear was the Master of Ceremonies. The speakers highlighted the strength and quality of the business entrants and the strong foundation of specialised companies in Otago.
Otago Chamber of Commerce chief executive John Christie said this year’s winners were all driven by excellence in business performance and that their desire to challenge and prosper made Dunedin and Otago the real winners. Ali Copeman added that every one of the businesses represented at the awards brings a unique character and flavour to the region that Otago residents can be proud of.
Awards chief judge Sir Robin Gray headed a team of judges who had the impressive task of reviewing the 663 nominations. Sir Robin reiterated the impressive quality and diversity of Dunedin and Otago entrants.
TracMap was also named top emerging company at the 2010 national Hi-Tech awards, and placed 8th in the Deloitte Fast Fifty Awards in 2009.
