Outstanding Success for Otago at Deloitte Fast 50
Otago celebrated a stunning result following the 2009 Deloitte Fast 50 Awards held 28 October, 2009. Winners were announced across five locations concurrently with the Otago winners learning of their success at an event held at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery with in excess of 200 invited guests. Three Otago companies were in the top 10 companies nationally showing that Otago is batting well above the average on a per population and company basis. The overall national winner was New Zealand Honey Co. of Dunedin with an astounding 994%, followed closely by Medrecruit of Queenstown at 856%. Upstart especially congratulates Upstart client Tracmap for their 8th placing nationally with 560% growth. The company lead by Colin Brown and Grant Gibson has achieved stunning results in tough economic conditions and it is testimony to a stellar team who are a pleasure to work with, results orientated, with tremendous determination and integrity. A number of recurring themes emerged as videos of the winners were played to award attendees. The best ideas seem to flow in the bath or spa, after a few wines, or in the middle of the night, and winners indicated it's important to take time out to get the altitude to look at the business without the day to day distractions.
